Its been a few months since we returned from our Honeymoon in Dubai. Honeymoons are meant to be special – which that was, but something about this Dubai honeymoon trip has stayed with us in a way that just the memories and experiences that we encountered still makes both of us feel special.
Both of us are widely travelled and we chose Dubai as it offers a mix of experiences that are so convenient and accessible.
From the time we got off the aircraft our very special journey started. We were both weary of long immigration lines, but to our joy we discovered the Marhaba Services. As we got off the aircraft we were greeted by a very welcoming lady who directed us through the Fast Track through immigration. This was a breeze.
After much thought we decided to split our stay in Dubai – so we could experience the vibrancy of the city, the desert and also the beach and waterfront – it was quite interesting that within 30 minutes of each other we could plan both these experiences.
We booked 3 nights at the Armani, 1 Night at the Al Maha Desert Resort ( this was located about 1 hr from Dubai, right in the middle of the desert) and2 Nights at the Atlantis.
The Armani Hotel was amazing. Located inside the Burj Khalifa – with all the trendy cafes and restaurants as well as direct access to the Dubai Mall – this was a phenomenal experience – with a personal Lifestyle Manager for each guest et all.
We wanted to make each dining experience special – and we were spoilt for choice in choosing these. From an amazing dinner at the At. mosphere on the 122nd Floor the Burj Khalifa, to some delicious Italian the Il Borro Tuscan Bistro and our top pick was the Pai Thai Restaurant – we needed to take a boat to reach this restaurant. The food in all these places was Top Notch and authentic.
The atmosphere and mood we got into made us also do things that we never thought we would do. We actually skydived – both of us still cannot comprehend as to what prompted us to do this. However, this is probably one thing that we will never ever forget. It just felt so safe and casual – thanks to how professionally the whole thing was managed.
We spent these 4 days mainly exploring the great shopping and dining experiences and of course the Skydive.
We had heard about the Al Maha Desert Resort – a Marriott hotel. It was a tough decision and it was quite pricey. However, a honeymoon is a once in a life experience and we decided to go for it. This place was unbelievable – luxury in the middle of the desert and usually lazy people – we indulged in so many activities like the desert safari – a private experience. We felt we were transported into another world.

Well, our Dubai adventure continued as we transported ourselves yet into another world at the Atlantis Hotel. WOW!! The entire resort is truly amazing. We stayed in the normal rooms – which were great, but out of curiosity we wanted to see the underwater Suite. The manager was kind enough to show us this and on seeing this we promised ourselves that we would come back to Dubai only for this – of course once we had more money.
Here, we really enjoyed the Aquaventure Water Park, and since our Adventure Streak was at its peak – we did the Aquatrek Xtreme – although it seemed scary being at the bottom of the aquarium – surrounded by sharks – in a few minutes we felt so a part of this underwater world. The dining options were fantastic and to top it all we got a great deal at the Spa on our last day – this was a great way to end our memorable journey. Dubai made our Honeymoon turn into a memorable journey.

As we write this, we realize that it was just 6 nights but Dubai and it diversity made us feel we had travelled for much longer.
The experiences, top quality hotels, restaurants and most importantly – the hospitality has etched Dubai in our hearts and minds for a long time to come.
Thank you Dubai and see you again, soon.
